Fondue Evening!

Fondue!! This is and old time family favourite that we used to eat regularly when I was little and living at home with my parents. It’s such a social meal as you all sit down and each cook their meat how they want it.

I still love it just as much today and I do more or less the same marinade my mum has always done. Heinz Chilli Sauce, HP sauce, Lea & Perrins Worcestershire sauce, splash of Tabascos and some garlic! Last night I also put in a couple of red medium heat chillies!

Main side dish, Hasselbackspotatis, or Hasselback Potatoes. Thinly sliced potatoes but not all the way through, the base of the potato should still be whole. Brushed with melted butter and some seasoning and then in to a 200C oven for about 20 minutes and then brushed again with the melted butter. I topped mine with some breadcrumbs and grated cheese before putting back in to the oven for about er 15-20 minutes.

Other sides, a small tomato salad and a Creme Fraiche tarragon dip. I also like to mix a bit of the Chilli, HP and Worcester sauce on the plate and dip the meat in.

Have a lot of left over meat so dinner tonight may be a traditional Swedish Pyttipanna!
